Changes in the concession of the Maliaño wharf

The Free Trade Zone is making changes in the concession of the Maliaño dock in order to relocate the ferry. For this purpose, an agreement has been reached with the Port Authority of Santander, presenting the following resignation by the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Santander to the concession for the occupation of a subsoil surface in the Maliaño wharf for pipes for the conduction of liquid and powdery bulks, which is in force. The counterpart, and with the objective that the Free Trade Zone can provide its services, will be the granting of a concession in the dock of the North Margin, for the installation of three pipes for loading and unloading of non-hazardous bulk liquids with an investment of around 500.000 euros.

On the other hand, it is agreed to begin the process of rescue of part of a concession to the Free Trade Zone, located in the area adjacent to the docks of Maliaño, in the southeastern part of its facilities, which occupies an area of 9.788 square meters, and that will become part of the project set of the new ferry terminal and the installation of Liquefied Gas for ships.

The Free Trade Zone, for its part, continues to work on its logical aspiration to gain space and, in fact, for the last three months has had a warehouse in the Wisscoq Industrial Park with the status of Customs Warehouse, and is looking for new locations and investment possibilities, while it finds a definitive solution, in order to have more square meters and thus be able to increase its activity.
