Annual Conference of the World Free Zone Organization
The Chamber attends in Dubai the Annual Conference of the World Free Zone Organization, a representation made up of State delegates from five of the seven Spanish free zones, in which Fernando Cámara participates as the head of the Santander Free Zone. He is attending the “World FZO AICE” which this year is held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The five delegates from the free zones of Barcelona, Santander, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Vigo have attended the fourth annual conference of the World Organization of Free Zones in Dubai with the goal of strengthening trade relations between areas and contributing to the international positioning of the Spain brand.
Over the course of this two-day event, top-tier speakers and policy decision makers, the academic community, multilateral organizations, and business leaders from more than 80 countries are meeting with international free zone delegations to share the best practices and promote public awareness of the role and the contribution for the economic growth of free zones. During the different sessions, an attempt will be made to explore and understand the impact of the new economy on free zones. The future dynamic of global economic growth and the evolution of the role of international trade in the coming years, as well as the role that Free zones have to play as powerful tools to attract investment, increase trade and support sustainable economic development in their countries, are some of the issues that are being debated during this world congress. Participants are also analyzing the fact that free zones are very complex tools that require careful planning and strong management skills, so their managers must be provided with the necessary tools to achieve outstanding results that are reflected in a healthier and stronger economy in their areas of influence.
