The Group will provide the Special State Delegates coordination in the Free Zone Consortiums, and the dialogue between them and the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.
October 2nd, 2017. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, Felipe Martínez Rico, has chaired the constitutive meeting of the coordination group of the Special State Delegates in the Free Zone Consortiums, created by Resolution of the Undersecretary on July 11th, 2017.
The group was set up with the objective of being a permanent coordination mechanism for the Special State Delegates in the Free Zone Consortiums. It is also intended to be a support for the Free Zone conversations between the delegates and the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.
The Free Zone Consortiums are state public sector entities attached to the Ministry of Finance and Public Function. Both the State and the local entities, in whose territory the Consortium is located, are present in the Consortium governance structure. The special State Delegate is also the Vice president of the Plenary and the President of the Executive Committee, representing the State in the Consortium. He is responsible of the execution of the resolutions of the Plenary and the Executive Committee, with all of the Consortium personnel reporting to him immediately.
In addition to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, this first meeting of the coordination group was attended by the Special State Delegates in the seven Free Zone Consortiums in Spain (Barcelona, Cádiz, Vigo, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Seville and Santander), who have elected Mr. Jordi Cornet i Serra, Special Delegate of the Barcelona Free Zone Consortium, as the chairman of the group.
