After the last regional and municipal elections, the elections in the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria and the changes in the Port Authority of Santander, today has been constituted the new Plenary of the Consortium of the Free Trade Zone of Santander who, in turn, has unanimously elected the four new members to join its Executive Committee.
The Plenary of the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Santander has been constituted as follows:
President:
- Tomás Dasgoas Rodríguez (President of the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria)
Vice President:
- Francisco Fernández Mañanes (Special State Delegate in the Consortium)
Vowels:
- María José Sáenz de Buruaga (President of the Government of Cantabria)
- Ainoa Quiñones Montellano (Government Delegate in Cantabria)
- Gema Igual Ortiz (Mayor of Santander)
- César Díaz Maza (Chairman of the Santander Port Authority)
- Eduardo Arasti Barca (Regional Minister of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Commerce of the Government of Cantabria)
- Carmen Seguí Belda (Head of the AEAT’s Regional Customs and IIEE Unit)
- Santiago Díaz Fraile (Director of the Santander Port Authority)
- Agustín Navarro Morante (Councilman of Development of Santander City Council)

Finally, all those present signed a letter in recognition of the brilliant and extensive work carried out by Modesto Piñeiro García-Lago after having presided over the entity for the last 25 years, being the main responsible for the transformation of the old Bonded Warehouse into the new Free Trade Zone of Santander, making it one of only seven Free Trade Zones in Spain that can offer a series of tax and customs advantages to international trade operators.
