- During the session, key advances, new collaborations from the Ministry of Finance and the renewal of the legal agreement with the General State Administration, among others, were detailed.
The Executive Committee and the Plenary of the Santander Free Trade Zone Consortium (ZFS) met last Tuesday, November 26th in the Board Room of the Santander Port Authority. During the meeting, the Special Delegate of the State, Ainoa Quiñones, presented the main lines of action and the most relevant advances in the management of the ZFS.
One of the highlights was the announcement of new ways of collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the First Vice-Presidency of the Government, both in the economic and technical fields. Regarding economic support, the Ministry of Finance has committed to provide financial support for investments in the Santander Free Trade Zone and especially for other projects in the area of influence. In addition, at the technical level, a framework of collaboration will be opened whereby the Ministry will provide direct support in the management of the Consortium’s projects and initiatives.
The Special Delegate highlighted the “decisive support to the Free Trade Zones, including Santander” that the Ministry is providing with these new collaborations, which will contribute to optimize processes and improve project management, thanks to the participation of specialized personnel.
During the meeting, the renewal of the Legal Assistance Agreement between the General State Administration and the ZFS was also announced. In addition, the minutes of the previous Plenary were approved and the progress of ongoing projects was updated, along with new initiatives to be implemented in the coming months.
